About Me

I am an accelerator physicist and a software engineer.

Currently I am fulltime employed by European Spallation Source ERIC (ESS) and I am based in Lund, Sweden. I work as a Control room shift leader in the Accelerator Division.
I also hold a visiting scientist affiliation at European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva Switzerland, to work on the beam losses and the collimation system upgrades foreseen for the future machines.

I have obtained my MSc in physics at University of Science and Technology (AGH) in Krakow. Later I have defended my PhD thesis (also in physics) at Swiss Federal Institute in Lasuanne (EPFL).
My main field of research and interest are:

  • Beam orbit and trajectory control in the particle accelerators,
  • Beam - beam interactions at the bunch by bunch level,
  • Beam losses (diamond detectors) and beam collimation,
  • Performance evaluation (i.e. luminosity, reproducibility),
  • Control systems for accelerators.
  • Journal/Conference publications My PhD thesis Selected papers/notes created/co-authored by me in CDS

    Music

Formed by a particle physicist, electronics physicists and engineer and an accelerator physicist. Our repertoire consists mainly of classic late 80's and 90's rock music, with some re-arranged modern pop songs thrown in.

What happens when a couple of antimatter scientists hook up with an LHC beam physicist and a sultry lead singer from Transylvania? Wait for it...
